Jennifer Winkelman has earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance from the Conservatory of Dance at the University of Missouri - Kansas City. She also owned and operated Dancenter and Spotlight Dance Wear from 1993-1999, founded Encore Dance Company in 1993 which has toured the local schools numerous times, and worked with the Moscow Ballet in 2007 in their Nutcracker Performance. She frequents many workshops including: Tremaine, St. Louis Tap Dance Festival, Dupree, I Love Dance, Spotlight Dance Competitions, Dance Makers, Dance Olympus, City Slicker Stomp, and American College Dance Festivals. She has also studied Ballroom Dance at Studio B in Columbia, Missouri. This will be MidMo Conservatory of Dance's eighth year and its students have performed in nursing homes, Kidsfest, Worlds of Fun, and with the Wildheart Concert at Runge Nature Center, Salute to America, and in a local elementary school. She choreographed Lady Pirates of Captain Bree as well as some choreography in M*A*S*H. Both produced by the Jefferson City Home Educators. She enjoyed choreographing for the Stain Glass Theater in Jefferson City as well as barn dance calling for the fiddle camp Pluck, Box, and Strum. In the summer of 2013-2015, she was the "D" in the Music, Art, and Dance Camp (MAD Camp) and taught Western European Folk Dance, Asian Dance, and Indian Dances. She has been teaching for over 30 years and has been dancing for 40 years. Along with dance, Jennifer Winkelman has been playing violin for 36 years and instructing for 15 years. Her experience includes Jefferson City Symphony, on scholarship with the Southwest Missouri University Symphony, and studies under Tiberius Klausner. When she's not dancing or making music, she is training dogs at MidMo Dog Training or selling Real Estate for RE/MAX Jefferson City.
Ashley Akers-Wallendorff is 20 years old and is currently working on earning her Associates degree in Business through Moberly Area Community College. She is currently employed at the United States Post Office. She has been clogging since she was 8 years old so she has been clogging for 12 years. She has been doing a variety of dance for 16 years because she started when she was 4 years old. She has and still is currently taking hip-hop and ballet class at MidMo Conservatory of Dance. She has also been clogging with the Flat Footin’ Follies in Fulton, Missouri for 12 years. She has currently started teaching clogging at MidMo Conservatory of Dance. Her clogging group is named: MidMo Cloggers. She attends the City Slicker Stomp workshop in Independence, Missouri each year for clogging. She is also an ambassador of the Missouri Clogging Association (formally the Missouri Clogging Council). She has attended their workshops for the past 2 years. She loves to help choreographed clogging routines.
